I remember visiting Lodi CA in 1966 during spring break and happening on a drag race. We were on our way to L.A. but decided to stop and watch. For some reason there were some big names there. Even Tommy Ivo was there with his four buick powered dragster. Anyway there were also two jet dragsters there. I had never seen one before and was pretty excited to see them. They made more than one run each. The fastest time was just over 3 seconds. I don't remember the actual time but in was in the low threes. I was amazed, the wheel driven machines weren't even close at that time. I am remembering the top speed was 3.2 something but I'm not certain anymore.
